W6 - University - Part One

A/N: You know, I tend to think that my sims' lives are pretty boring. Afterall, I never kill them in some sort of horrible accident, nobody gets amnesia, there are no mysterious characters planning who knows what. It seems I may be wrong though. Recently I had a friend over, who while she's very into the sims hasn't had much chance to play for various reasons. As I was trying to explain the Rainseeker family tree to her, it hit me! Knowlton really is a bit of a soap opera. I mean here you have sims marrying multiple times for various reasons, a woman with four children who never married, a romance couple that somehow remains monogamous, houses of all rainbow hues. Women who are so obsessed with a certain color that even their pets must match their household decor. A teenager forced to raise her younger brother and sacrifice her own wants for his good. And that's only the first four houses. I guess Knowlton isn't so boring after all.

Previously at Sim State University

Last year saw long time college students Loretta, Cora, and Lauren graduate, but not before inviting Piper Rainseeker to move into Whispering Winds. Piper's already managed to set her eyes on a guy she considers dreamy and fulfill all of her Uni scoring obligations, so now it's all about skill building, badge building and friendship building.

"What? I thought it was all about hanging out, making friends, and toga parties!?!"

Ah hah! I was wondering what you're hobby would be. Couldn't figure this one out from her personality. Well, at least science is a nice change of pace, although it doesn't suit her airhead airs. Maybe it's all an act. I've met women like that. They're super intelligent but feel they need to hide it for some reason.

I refuse to take constant shots of Piper on the phone, so whenever she's not doing something else, you can assume she's on the phone.

As you can see, Piper's been moved. She'll start the Greek House here again which will be called Knowlton House. Whispering Winds was just getting too slow to play and half the time the students couldn't go to class. She did bring all the irreplaceable things with her. I also decided to give Piper a cheerleader's outfit like I threatened last time. Of course, as soon as she started Knowlton House it was Level 6, it's one of the benefits of having a Popularity sim as your founder, they've already got lots of friends (provided your helping them with their wants).

Ouch! That looks like it hurts.

Poor Piper, as gorgeous as she is, she didn't have time as a teen for dating and this is her first kiss.

You know Jason, when Piper asked you to pledge and stay the night, I don't think this is quite what she had in mind.

Jason actually stayed after the date until noon the next day! Hoorah, now I can control him before they get married! Yeah, unlike in real life, my sims don't date much except my romance sims.

Please, oh please, don't have ugly children after you get married. I'm taking a big chance on you Jason. It's not so much that he isn't good looking, I'm just wondering how his nose and mouth are going to turn out on Piper's children. Look at Neil. He's not bad looking, but his poor daughter, well, it's probably a good thing that she's a Knowledge sim. She's not ugly, she's just handsome. Her nose is just a bit too much on a girl.

Well, it's a couple of days later, and the bottom floor of the house has been renovated. Mostly, a lot of walls were taken down and the bathroom and the kitchen switched places. What is the obsession at EA with putting bathrooms in the center of the ground floor? Jason of course cares about none of this, he's just happy that the result gives him space for his barre.

I also finally got around to rebuilding the skilling room. Good thing too, because for some reason Jason and Piper keep spinning up wants to build their mechanical skills, despite the fact that it doesn't have anything to do with their hobbies or aspirations.

Piper's finally gotten enough enthusiasm to search for constellations. It's rather slow going because there just doesn't seem to be as much science type things to do during the day, not to mention she's still working on 30 Best Friends.

I think Nerissa has a hard time believing that this bombshell in a scanty nighty is a major science geek.

Good thing you discovered that planet Piper. See, the thing is, I kinda thought that moving her out of the WW would be the same thing as in the normal neighborhood where everything is sold off for you. Instead, she left with just the petty cash money was at about $22,000. That may sound like a lot till you realise that this house needed some BIG additions. We were down to about $49 before this. Jason and Piper just don't have the dedication of Cadence, Cora, and Tara towards harvesting money trees.

With two Popularity sims living here who both have the LAB benefit Hospitality, well, it's never an empty house.

This was actually oddly coincidental since I'd just gotten around to watching Hairspray earlier in the day.

I guess Jason figures when you're as ugly as Lyndsay and you have as bad taste as Lyndsay, you need some special help.

Here's a sight I thought I'd never see. There's a party inside and a Popularity sim outside searching for alien life. Seriously though, this girl never wears clothes. I haven't seen her put on clothes except if it's really cold outside. Maybe she doesn't like her cheerleading outfit as much as I thought she did.

Week 5 - Round 10 - University - Year 2

This will probably be the last update to Knowlton for a few weeks. I'm flying out to visit my mother in British Columbia in two weeks (lots of prep and packing to do), and while I am bringing my portable hard drive along (the one will all my sims stuff) I don't think either of their computers can handle the households of Knowlton. I'm not completely abandoning my readers however. I'm starting another blog that will be following the adventures of Logan Knight as he attempts the dreaded Apocalypse Challenge. I figure one house with only a few sims and no plants should be much easier on their computers even if it is perpetually winter. The first episode should be up in a few days. It'll take longer than the others because I'm doing a College Prelude. Happy Simming!

Welcome Back to Sim State University. What I'll be doing this round is switching back and forth between Whispering Winds and 3 Pecan Drive, where Piper Rainseeker has taken up residence through out the chapter, usually around the end of each semester of the year.

Last year Loretta managed to hit the 30 Best Friends mark, and Lauren earned her Gold Gardening badge. Oh, and there were a couple of toga parties.

Once again I've forced the girls to get their nasty term papers out of the way right away.

Term papers written it's time for the girls to get back to their routines. Loretta's got to keep up with her friendships....

Lauren has Piper on the phone getting to know her....

and Cora is making the ugliest face of greed I've ever seen as she harvests her precious crop.

Lauren still needs one last logic point for eventual career in Politics. It would be absolutely hilarious in the extremely frustrating fashion if the first abduction in Knowlton was a woman.

It's Cora's turn to get to know Piper now. It's all so much easier when you can control the relationship from both ends!

Loretta and Lauren spend so much time on the phone that now and then they pause for a coffee break so that the warm brew can sooth their sore throats.

Way to go Lauren! You now have the skills required to become Mayor of Knowlton.

I almost forgot to get a picture of the eggplant harvest, how silly of me. The girls are being generous and are planning on stocking the eggplants in the juicer for the next Knowledge sim to arrive at University who will appreciate the special abilities of the eggplant far more than any of these girls will.

Ah college life, where homework is a constant need.

The amount of noise these girls make when they all call their friends at the same time is scary.

Once again it's time for the girls to write their term papers, but this time all the hard work has the added benefits of autumn!

I think it's time to go check on Piper, so just close your eyes and relax while I whisk you over to 3 Pecan Drive. It looks like Piper has arrived and had her 18th Birthday and Makeover!

Piper's place is a wee bit baren. I've added a few things for her, but she just doesn't have enough cash on hand to do much.

The first thing Piper decides to do is to test out her new stove by having her first meal as a young adult.

Then of course she glued herself to the phone, lol.

Well he certainly thinks she's hot. Apparently it's mutual because she has two lightning bolts for him. Honestly I only had her greet him on the off chance that she'd like him since he has red hair. Plus, I kinda figured that with that jacket chances are high that he is a Popularity sim. We've got to check his face though, he's the second walk-by, the first was rejected for having baboon lips.

Hmm, not bad he and Piper should either balance each other out or produce some really ugly kids.

Hah hah! I should have made Piper wear the cheerleader uniform. I still may.

After her first class in Biology, Piper decides to call the girls of Whispering Winds and see if she can join the greek house. Of course they say yes!

"Oh Man! Don't do that! The chicken dance is soo over!"

"Oh Wow! It's like a secret club and all!"

I'd either forgotten that Jason was a member, or he was tapped. I'm pretty sure that Amin Tellerman is new too. I'll have to consider him as a potential spouse for someone.

It's too late to call people now, so I guess she might as well paint.

The very next day Piper finishes off all of the things that young Popularity sims want to do when they go to college. She's already joined the SS, she's joined a Greek House, and now, finally, she's reached Big Sim on Campus!

Wearing that excuse for pajamas outside might make you a little more popular on campus than you want, you know.

Now that Piper's starting her second term of her Freshman year, she's moved in with the girls of Whispering Winds. Welcome Piper!

The first thing Piper did was makeover her new bedroom. Rowan had left it in earth tones, and that was just too serious for a girl like Piper.

The second thing she did was get to work on her term paper.

With all of her school work out of the way it's time for Piper to spend some time in the garden. She composted, and Lauren planted some things for her because I am heartily sick of tomatoes. Then Piper watered.

Of course, when she earned her bronze badge she was half buried under a tree making a good shot impossible.

I hope Jason likes strong women, because Piper is one fit chick!

Even Loretta is spending some time skill building.

She even found time to help Piper earn her last Body point.

She took off to visit campus before Piper finished maxing, but Piper managed to pull it off on her own!

Believe it or not this is actually the first day of summer. I've rearranged the weather of Sim State Uni to maximize the benefits for my sims. It's now fall, summer, fall, summer. Oh yeah, Piper earned her Silver badge btw.

Cora, Loretta, and Lauren all have their final final exams later today, so I've decided to just let them slack off a bit and spend some time fishing. Every now and then they run inside for a cup of coco and a potty break.

The biggest news this year is probably that Lauren finally made it to 30 Best Friends. I'm getting really sick of this want.
