Week 3 - Round 5 - Luworld Home
We're entering week 3 of the challenge and most of the families are doing pretty well for themselves. Promotions roll in, kids grow-up, teens go to college and life goes on.
Not much happened from Monday night until Wednesday night at the Luworlds. Nobody needed skills for promotions, and Monica and Grayson didn't work, the girls did their homework. Most of it was just spent taking care of their needs, or calling friends. I'm trying to make sure that most of Gen 1 (except poor Tom, and Debbie who's not interested) will have top influence when they die. The other good thing about this is that obviously my sims get priority over townies, so when G1 adults start dying off, the neighborhood should make a tidy profit. A few hightlights of the Monday - Wednesday drag:
Loretta has started bringing home friends from school. At least she has the good taste to choose other Prosperity residents and not annoying little townies *cough*Marsha*cough.
Debbie wandered by the house the other day around 2:30 at night. It almost seemed like she was chasing this cat.
Late Wednesday afternoon: And here's what I've been waiting for all week. We've adopted Tara's first pet, Buffy. Buffy comes extremely well work trained but poorly house trained. In fact, her previous owners trained her to pee in the house and sleep on sim beds. She already has the work skills required to reach the top of the pet Show Biz track though, so we'll worry about her manners later. She's got mostly a neutral personality, but she's very independant and yet very cowardly. Plus, I'm getting sick of always seeing the same pets in the adoption bin, so I'm going to start emptying it.
This is Magenta, my somewhat lame attempt to recreate her namesake from my kids' tv show Blue's Clues. After having purchased Buffy and started becoming friends with her, I realised that I'd made a mistake and bought an elder dog. I really can't tell the difference in the pet adoption window. I gave Buffy back, and since the family had already paid enough for 3 or 4 pets for Buffy, I gave them Magenta free of charge. I think she'll fit in perfectly with Monica's decor. (A/N: Magenta was "bought" at night, I just took this photo in build mode so you could all see her glorious pinkness).
I immediatly sent Tara out to meet her. After all, I bought Magenta for her, even if Magenta will have to stay here when she goes to college.
After getting to know Magenta a little, Tara started training her. After all, it's her LTW, not her parents.
No reason, it's just cute. I may not even train this one to stay off the furniture, as long as she leaves the beds alone.
Uh-oh! I think Eddie told Tara about money trees. Well, I guess now they have two things in common.
Even Magenta needs to be scolded sometimes, still, you'd wonder why she'd bark at Tara after Tara had just praised her for eating her pet food. I even gave her a pink bowl!
Tara was up all night training Magenta and harvesting money trees, so she had to hop into the energizer before school.
And then Magenta was off to her first day in Show Biz. How appropriate for a character of a cartoon series.
Never trust Monica in the kitchen, she can't cook. Monica, how could you do this? I want to invite the headmaster. I'm sick of Loretta coming home totally bummed out.
Well Korey did come over, he loved the house, he loved the family, and he loved the food. Mostly I think they got in though because he thinks Monica is hot!
We'll leave off with Tara giving Magenta her first bath in the newly installed outside-tub-just-for-pets. In other words, the bathrooms are too small and I can never get the dog into the tub!

Aww! Magenta! How fitting, a pink dog for a very pink house. I hope one of my Fortune sims gets that LTW, I'd like to give it a try.
The days really do drag when you're not trying to achieve anything. I find the weekends to be the slowest times. Oh, and when you're waiting for a sim to have their baby. I hate it when the round cuts off just before that happens! It's so tempting to stick around and wait for the baby.
I thought it was cute. I usually do go with either a color theme or style theme for the houses. You'll notice the rainseeker home seems to have ended up mostly orange. Just makes choices easier and insures that my houses don't all look exactly alike. That's especially a problem whenever I get a new expansion or stuff pack, lol. Gotta try it all out right away.
I actually enjoy the weekends the most because the kids have time for skilling and dating. During the week the kids are either preparing for homework, doing homework, or recovering from homework. Oh, and they eat. Most of the promotions come on the weekends in this neighborhood since we have so many athletes at the moment. Has to be the only neighborhood I've ever had with so many would-be athletes. Thanks for the tip about MoreAwesomeThanYou. I actually love that site, but hadn't gone yet to see what was compatible. I actually had quite the shopping spree last night installing hacks that fix Maxis glitches (dead birds, etc) and a few things that won't affect anything score related. I was really tempted by the romance hack, since it seems more like how it should be, but it would affect gameplay too much. Besides, Serena wants 20 Woohoos, not loves. I can't believe she hasn't been caught yet. Probably helps that I delete her roses.
Magenta sure is cute! Another simmer makes a female and a male dog/cat in CAP, installs them into an empty houses, breeds them, and then has the Pet adoption people come take the babies to increase her adoption pool.
