Week 5 - Round 10 - 12 Oak Square (Rainseeker)

A/N: Well, it looks like those of you who have been craving an update on Knowlton are in luck. I fully intended to play out my Apocalypse family first, but I installed Freetime. After playing for a couple of sim days I realized how all encompassing the new gameplay is, so I've decided to wait for official word from Mount Pinstar before I continue with The Day After Tomorrow Sim Style.

Last round Bobby came home from college and but himself and his future wife a lovely home that I stole from Riverblossom Hills. Mr. Bear spent much of the week trying to take over the house, and the annoying Seasons' bin families continued to follow my sims home from work. Bobby managed to reach TOC in Education easily while Brandi got a start in the Adventure career track.

There should be lots of fun playing with Freetime, too bad I still haven't got my copy of the guide. The local (only one hour away by car) EB Games has suddenly decided not to stock the Sims 2 guides, even though up till now they've had every single one, which means I'm now waiting for it to arrive from Chapters in the mail.

Friday (Summer)

Awesome! I've been wanting to try restoring a car anyway! Bobby and Brandi both have such middle of the road personalities that I'm having a hard time guessing what their predestined hobbies will be.

Oh for the love of Cheese! They're Poptarts Brandi, how did you manage to burn Poptarts?

I'd like to say that Bobby's being insensitive, but honestly, it's just a little kitchen fire. I've yet to have a sim die from one of those.

It turns out that Brandi's really into tinkering too, which at least mean this car should get fixed up faster than usual, whatever is usual.

"Wew, restoring that beat up old car is a lot more exhausting than I thought it would be."

Brandi returns home with a promotion, but exhausted from her earlier stint with the car.

Saturday (Fall)

The wedding is tomorrow and they'll both have the day off, provided I don't allow Brandi to gain the Body skill points she needs for a promotion. In the meantime, I've used their default 5 LABs to fill their Needs columns and to choose secondary aspirations. Bobby got Family, and Brandi got Knowledge.

Too bad I can't rename the family to the Tinker family! Well, I could, but I don't want to, even if I kinda do want to, if that makes any sense at all.

Sunday (Fall)

It's Wedding Day!

Half the guests are busy elsewhere, but that won't stop these two. Rowan's busy tossing her cookies, Grizou's hogging the piano, and for some reason Laura's just sitting on the sofa. Aremis is watching the wedding, but he decided to do it from the porch.

There are a lot of pregnant sims at this wedding. Well really, it's just Rowan and Daisy, but hopefully Brandi will be pregnant before the end of the reception too.

That's an awful grumpy expression for a family sim to wear on their wedding day. It might have something to do with the fact that people keep wandering through the bedroom to get to the second bathroom.

Bobby eventually succeeded in getting Brandi pregnant, so it was time for him to go take care of the plants. He's been neglecting them all and they were quite wilted. Poor Bobby and Brandi, I forgot to book their honeymoon before the nuptials.

Monday (Fall)

3 am Monday morning, and Bobby finally finds Culinary. He doesn't work until Thursday, which is fine, he has plans.

Lots of plans that involve wrenches and such things.

The energizer is totally an essential when it comes to tinkering or robotics.

More tinkering.

Brandi now has her own invitation to Will's Garage.

Promotions are good, Gembok would be better.

Yup, it's amazing all right, you managed to maximize your body skills without ever having to get sweaty. Meanwhile, Bobby's finally moved on to Hydrobots out in the garage. Who needs sleep or food when you have an energizer?

The reason that Bobby can afford this house is because of his fiancée Brandi. Brandi was quite generous while the two of them were dating in college. Bobby made a quick pit stop on his way home to sell some of her more extravagant gifts so that he could buy them a nice house. Bobby had just headed outside to try his hand at fishing when his welcome wagon arrived. Normally this would be fine, but they spent forever milling around trying to find a couple of pieces of level ground so that they could be greeted, and none of them tried to ring the doorbell. Once all that was settled the sat down to a nice fresh garden salad. To refresh your memories, the rather oriental lady in blue is Amber Wetstein-Graham, the gent next to her is Weldon Collin, and the lovely african american lady is Cadence Jalowitz-Chalmers.

Hey Maxis, I get that weather was tough and all, but why can't we see rain or snow from inside the house?

Good grief, the bear is taking over the house!

Now that everyone's full, it's time to do a little fishing. Some of these people get very little leisure time in their own homes and I feel I owe it to them. Mr.Bear tagged along to supervise.

Yay Bobby! You caught your first fish, I'm so pround, sob.

Well, fishing was fine, but since nobody is particularly good at it, they weren't having much fun, so it was time for a free-for-all waterballoon fight!

It's only the first day of summer, so Bobby got a bit chilly, what with all the water soaking through his sweatshirt, and decided to light a fire. Seems like he was the only one smart enough to use it though.

"This is the life," thought Bobby, "sitting in front of a warm fire with a good book."

"High-Ho, High-Ho, it's off to work I go"
Bobby is a very cheery sim.

Mr. Bear strikes again! Neil followed Bobby home from work, which works out well. There's someone I want him to meet.

It's time to ask Brandi to join the story. We'll just give them a moment.

Bobby has an even better idea, romancing his lady in front of a roaring fire. Smooth moves Bobby.

These two sure do have a lot of scenic places to get all hot and bothered.

They finally settled down to do some skill building. They've both decided to wait until the weekend to hold the wedding. There's a better chance of them both having the day off.

Speaking of which, it's time for Brandi to get a job. I really had no preference for her career, and in the end she ended up in the adventure career track. At least it has some fun outfits to make fun of.

I bet you're glad now that you gave Bobby this piano as a thank-you for a great date. Bobby actually didn't need to sell all his presents to buy the house, so he still has a few that have been placed around the rather sparsely furnished house.

Sweetheart, you don't have children yet, in fact, you're not even married yet, but Mr. Bear will give you a hug if you want.

It was promotions all around for the family which meant a night cuddled up on the sofa skill building. Good thing Bobby got the golden bookcase, Brandi was way too tired to work out.

Maxing Out Logic

Way to go Bobby, not bad for a Pleasure sim.

Bobby's already left for work, and Brandi doesn't leave till 2pm, so it's time to get started on her portrait.

"It's so nice to have such a lovely view while I'm scrubbing down the kitchen."

Brandi manages to leave just as the exterminator shows up. Someone or something knocked over the garbage can and nobody noticed until it was too late. Luckily for me, Brandi hasn't noticed our little infestation yet. I love this outfit, it actually looks really good on a lot of my sims, unlike the ugly blue suit she had on yesterday.

Way to go Bobby, I guess I'll let you switch to culinary after your wedding this weekend. And look, he's brought home Samantha Ottomos and her problem pregnancy. Joy.

Even the Education Minister has to clean up after the exterminator. Life's just not fair that way sometimes.
