These are the stories of the citizens of Knowlton - A Sims 2 Prosperity Challenge. If you love it, if you hate it, if you saw something you wanted to talk about, PLEASE leave comments. I'm a sad pathetic human, and I live for comments.

For those of you not familiar with what a Prosperity Challenge is, it's a Sims 2 Challenge in which the main focus is to build a prosperous community from scratch. There are a few catches though, everything, including your starting families are determined by the role of a dice (or in my case a randomizer). For the complete rules and setup you have two options the Yahoo! Group or the BBS thread at the official site.

The quick low down on the newly created Knowlton; Knowlton is completely deserted. It's set out in a grid, so at some point in the past it may have even been a city, but that may have been hundreds of years ago, because other than roads for miles around all you see is grass plains. Four daring families have decided (okay have been forced) to make a new start here. So come meet these daring folks, hear their stories, and wish them luck folks, they're going to need it! Week 3 - Round 5 - Rainseeker Home

Previously at Rainseeker Home: A lot happened last time, and all on the same day. Sweet old Tom passed away leaving his family a large inheritance, Billy and Bobby grew into children, and Aremis left for college. Sierra tried to fill the house with a little ball of fur named Bonkers, but was still lonely. And now on with the show!

Billy really likes animals, hopefully when he decides what he wants to do with his life it will involve pets because he's just too mean to deal with most sims. Webster isn't ours, he's a stray that visits sometimes.

Bobby really loves Bonkers, he wakes up every morning wanting to play with him and cuddle him.

Sierra moved on with her life, it's what Tom would have wanted. She had been friends with Neil for a long time and one afternoon while they were dancing together they realised they were in love.

Well, it turns out that Neil had known for a long time. He'd respected Tom, and so had decided to wait until Tom passed away to make his intentions known to Sierra.

Neil Pederson
Aspiration: Fortune
LTW: Become Chief of Staff
Personality: Neat-5, Outgoing-10, Active-5, Playful-5, Nice-0
Sign: Pisces
Turn-Ons: Cologne & Formal Wear, Turn-Off: Facial Hair

The kids were delighted when they came home and saw their mother smiling for what seemed like the first time in a long time. If Neil made her happy they liked him. Besides, there are just some things a boy can't talk to his mother about.

I love my neighborhood, my kids bring each other home all the time. For those who have trouble keeping track, this is Loretta Luworld that Bobby is hugging.

And Billy is playing chess with Cora Wetstein. She caught him cheating though and got quite angry about it. Hah! That might work on your sweet gullible brother, but don't try it on Cora, she's a smart one even if she is super nice.

The day of the wedding Sierra went out to Tom's grave and cried apologizing for moving on so quickly. It almost seemed like Tom was there, smiling gently and telling her it was alright to move on. After all, they had fallen in love and married quickly, and both had known that while she was young, he wasn't long for this earth. He'd carried on living after his daughter died. Would he really be angry that she was following his example?

Aremis however, is not so forgiving, "Why don't you take the next rocket to the moon you jerk!"

Aremis couldn't stand to see the woman that he'd come to view as a second mother (even if she was technically his grandmother) betray his grandfather this way. He'd always known that Sierra was a bit of a gold digger, but had thought that she'd finally realised that love and family were more important.

Looks like love to me.

For all that some people say that Neil is a jerk, he's very polite, not like those other grooms you see shoving cake into their brides mouths, he politely gives her a bite from his fork.

"I will accept you in this family when it snows in Knowlton."
Hmm, Aremis that may happen sooner than you know.

"Where's my wife?" Well, she was here a minute ago Neil, maybe she went ahead to the hotel and will meet you there.

They never got to dance at the wedding and decided it would be nice to do that when they got home.

Yeah, fireworks. I'm beginning to think that Neil's powder may be a bit damp, it took them four tries to get pregnant.

Aww, looks like he's going to be a great step-dad to the boys. They barely know each other and he's tucking him in. (No kidding their relationship is like 5/5)

The boys decided that if their Mom was happy it was okay for them to be happy again and chose some costumes to wear around the house. They argued over who got which one, so I stepped in and told them since Billy was meaner he should be the dragon.

Sierra got a new look too, although she's still trying to trick Mom, who's been suprisingly absent all week.

Headmaster time again. I won't bore you with the details. The score ended up at 47-Food, 40-Tour, 7-Schmooze, Total 94/90. We still had 3:31 on the clock. Easy peasy.

Oh Sierra, no, what are you thinking? You're not a family sim, I know you want friends, but surely there are easier ways than making your own? You guys may be loaded now, but Neil quit his job as a Pro Party Guest to follow his dreams in medicine. He's barely bringing in any money.

And yet another new family member. This is Panda. The lack of originality is not my fault, my kids named him.

The house went through some major renovations this week, so here are a few choice shots. Remember, you can click on any of the photos for a larger view.

Awww, poor Tom! And wow, Sierra did move on fast, but at least she managed to wrangle Mr. Big. He's such a character, I love having my sims marry him... all that primping cracks me up.

I also love seeing how you change the initial house you're using. They always turn out so different. I can't seem to put variation in my buildings when I actually do build... always the same old, same old.

And uh oh, did I see Sierra eating cheesecake?

Yeah, I felt kind of bad about how fast I had Sierra move on, but I wanted her to be able to have more children, and she'd already spent almost half of her adult life with Tom. There's already a huge age difference between her and Neil.

The only real reason the houses end up so different is because I add on rooms as I need them. I used to build houses for TSR, mostly starters, but lately I'd rather play. I probably won't be building any of the houses in Knowlton from my own head, but I will try to remember which artist the original house belonged to.

And yeah, Sierra seems to have a thing for cheesecake when she's pregnant. I must be nuts, I actually hate big families, but all of the other prosperity blogs are infecting me with the need for huge dynasties. I'm gonna have to redesign the family trees soon just to have enough space for huge multi-marriage families!
